Keeping our homes clean and tidy is an important part of our daily routine. But have you ever thought about the potential harm that may come from the cleaning products we use? As it turns out, some cleaning products contain toxic chemicals that can have negative effects on our health and the environment.

For our experiment, we tested different cleaning products that we use in our daily lives to see how they affect the air quality in our office. We used an air purifier that has an air quality sensor to measure the amount of particulate matter (PM) in the air before and after using each product. PM is a term used to describe a mixture of solid and liquid particles in the air, which can include dust, pollen, and chemicals.

We tested a range of products, including all-purpose cleaners, disinfectant sprays, and air fresheners. To our surprise, we found that one of the products we use daily that we thought was safe actually caused an increase in PM levels in our office. The biggest offender was the Glade air freshener, which not only contained toxic chemicals but also set off the red light on our air purifier.

We decided to investigate further and found that Glade air fresheners contain a number of harmful chemicals, including phthalates and formaldehyde. These chemicals can cause a range of health problems, including respiratory issues and even cancer. In addition, they can also harm the environment, contributing to air and water pollution.

After learning about the harmful effects of Glade air freshener, we immediately stopped using it in our office. We also made a conscious effort to choose more eco-friendly and natural cleaning products that are free from harmful chemicals.

In conclusion, our experiment showed us that some cleaning products may not be as safe as we think. We need to be more aware of the potential harm that can come from these products and choose safer alternatives. We hope that by sharing our findings, we can encourage others to make more informed choices when it comes to cleaning their homes and offices.
